In this section I will add reviews for hosting services out there that either provide free hosting or provide free trials.
I think this is important for newcomers to the online world because I have spent a fortune trying out hosting packages, only to discover they don’t do what I wanted them too, they were too complex, lacked adequate or informative support, or completely wrong for me in one way or another.
Whilst some of the services I review I may have gone on to abandon for one reason or another, at the very least, they provided me with an opportunity to try out their product/service without having to outlay sums of cash I could barely afford (from my state benefits in the early days).
I think it tells you a lot when a provider so believes in their product that they are willing to let you try it for free before you make a buying decision (like trying on a new dress in the changing rooms first).
Since some of the experiences I have had, I have become very cautious. As such, I started only to be interested in those who provide free trials. And, as I said above, at least they have some confidence in their product.
GoDaddy & Wealthy Affiliate are two that I haven’t had to lay out any money for whatsoever when trying their services. So far, Wealthy Affiliate, for me, are in the lead because, theoretically, you could have your free site (2 in fact) hosted for free indefinitely. There are advantages to the paid option, but it is possible.
1&1 are a good provider and I have used them in the past, but they don’t offer a free trial. They do, however, offer your money back if you cancel within 30 days if the product isn’t right for you. I have included a review of 1&1 because technically you can try for free, but I don’t like having to pay up front and then wait for the money to be returned. They did refund promptly though, so that is a positive.
So this is just a small insight into some of the host providers that you will find in this section. So hover over the header menu to see who I’ve already reviewed and read each article to see if you think that they may be right for you! Or, even try them all – after all, it won’t cost you anything to try them, other than your time.
I will also be posting reviews for other services such as courses, training, outsourcing, etc – so keep a look out for those in the coming weeks. Please let me know if there are others you would like to see included.
Of course, if you have any other questions or comments, I’d be happy to hear them, just ask me below.
